3.12 lakh vaccines reached five districts of Barishal

Already 3 lakh 12 thousand doses of corona vaccine have reached in 5 out of 6 districts under Barisal division except Pirojpur district.
The Barishal Divisional Health Director’s Office has confirmed that the 36,000 doses of vaccines will reach Pirojpur district from Khulna by January 31.
Dr.Basudeb Kumar Das, Director, Divisional Health Office said already 3.48 lakh doses of vaccines have reached Barishal division.
Barisal Divisional Health Director Dr.Basudeb Kumar Das said that in the first phase, 3 lakh 12 thousand doses of corona vaccine have reached 5 districts of Barishal Division. Of those, 1 lakh 20 thousand for Barishal district, 12 thousand for Jhalokathi, 60 thousand for Bhola, 48 thousand for Patuakhali and 24 thousand for Barguna. Besides, 4 cartons with 36 thousands of doses will be stored in divisional office to meet emergency.
Of this, 3 lakh 48 thousand doses were carried in freezing van.
Of this, 3 lakh doses will be used for vaccination and 48 thousand vaccines will be preserved in 50 Ice Line Refrigerator (ILR) and two Walk In Coolers( WIC) in Barisal and Bhola.
In the next 3 days, a total of 36,000 doses will reach Pirojpur from Khulna with 36 thousands doses in 3 cartons.
A freezer van reached with 1.2 lakhs vaccine with 10 cartons at Barishal district civil surgeon office at 12 pm on Friday, confirmed Dr. Monwar Hossain, district Civil Surgeon (CS) of Barishal.
According to the Barishal Divisional Health Office, 828 people including 552 volunteers and 276 health workers will be trained in 138 centers including medical college in Barisal division.
These trainings are going on from January 29th to Feb 2.
The corona vaccination program will be officially inaugurated in Barisal division on 7th or 8th February and vaccine would be distributed to 15 categories of people on priority basis, to military-civilian, government employees, health workers, public representatives, freedom fighters, development workers and those working in service organisations.
Barishal district Civil Surgeon Dr Monwar Hossain said that 120,000 doses of vaccine have been collected as per the demand of the district.
The vaccines have been stored in the Ice Lined Refrigerator (ILR) of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, he added.
