Railway minister Md Mujibul Hoque said second railway bridge beside the existing Kalurghat bridge over Karnaphuli river will be constructed and the concerned authorities are contacting with different donor organization. He disclosed while exchanging views with the journalists at the meeting of Parliamentary standing committee meeting held at CRB building in Chittagong on Sunday .
Member of PSC , Railway Minister also said this is the ever first meeting of the PSC in Chittagong.
The meeting was also told that 46 locomotive engines will join the Bangladesh railway from India and in next six months another 120 passenger bogeys will be imported from Indonesia and India .Chairman of the PSC on Railway ABM Fazle Karim chowdhury MP presided over the meeting.
The Minister also told that the present govt under the leadership of Sheikh Hasan, massive development over Railway will be done ; The meeting also taken decision for double line on Ctg-Nazirhat railway line and a new rail connections with CUET for the better transportation of the engineering students like CU shuttle train.
Among others, Moslemuddin, Ali asghar, Sirajul Islam Md. Noman, Yasin ali, Secretary Mansur Ali siker, DG Railway Tofazzal Hossain and GM East zone Mozzamel Hoque were present in the meeting.
