The BRAC Chicken 2nd National Surfing tournament will begin today (Thursday) at the tourist hub laboni points in Cox’s Bazar sea beach.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu is expected to inaugurate the three-day meet as the chief guest at 10 am. Director of BRAC Chicken Toufiq Ahmed and Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Ali Hossain will present there as special guests.
Bangladesh Surfing Association (BSA) president who is also member of the National Parliament in Dhaka-6 constituency and former Minister Kazi Firoz Rashid will preside over the opening ceremony.
Apart from main sponsor BRAC Chicken, Novo Air is the co-sponsor of the tournament.
Besides, Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Ocean Paradise, Best Western, Nisarg Resort, Aquafina and Saint Martin are the tourism, hospitality, dormitory, beverage and transport partners respectively to make the event a success.
Organised by Bangladesh Surfing Association, a total of 150 surfers, 76 surfers more compared to the previous tournament, will compete in the two-day meet.
