The second National Fencing Championship began at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Bangladesh Fencing Association has arranged the five-day long fencing meet.
Director General of Bangladesh Ansar & VDP Major General Mizanur Rahman Khan inaugurated the fencing competition as the chief guest. President of Bangladesh Fencing Association (BFA) Lieutenant General (Retd) ATM Zahirul Alam , General Secretary of BFA Major (Retd) Qamrul Islam, Director (Sports) of Bangladesh Ansar & VDP Nimai Kumar Das and Sports Officer of Bangladesh Ansar Md Raihan Uddin Fakir were present at the time.
Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, Dhaka Commerce College, Mirpur Club, Mymensingh District Sports Association, Rangamati District Sports Association are competition in the fencing meet.
Two hundred players including men and women of seven teams are taking part in the competition.
