2nd Karnaphuli Jetty ready for speedy unload of goods

Karnaphuli Ship Builders Ltd, the largest ship building farm, constructs the 1st private Karnaphuli dry-dock jetty in the running March at Anwara, the southern area of the Karnaphuli river bank with a view to speedy unload of goods.
During that period, the under construction 2nd jetty was also accomplished on last July 29. The said jetty is a bit larger than the previous one.
After the completion of the 2nd jetty, there anchored 180 meter long two large ships in 1st and 2nd jetty.
Each of those has the capacity to carry 40 to 50 thousand tons of goods. Two ships of 170m long each are capable to anchor at a time in both jetties.
10-12 ships will unload goods from 2 jetties at a time per month. After building the 1st jetty, the 1st ship MV Dina Ocean by name and nearly of 154 m. long was anchored on 30th March carrying with the raw materials of BSRM.
It is mentionable that large ships are unable to enter at Chittagong harbour as their propeller goes outside from the channel area due to there is a hidden band turning at the entry point.
This complicacy does not exist in Karnaphuli dry-dock jetty, because it builds outside the hidden band and towards the sea. As a result there different sizes of large ships are capable to anchor here.
According to the jetty authority, the two 2 jetties are capable enough to unload goods at least 6 thousand tonnes per month. Although these jetties of Karnaphuli are private, the harbour will also earn revenue through these. The harbour will make the same revenue income from here as it earns revenue against unloading by its own.
But most of all the outcome of building these harbours will reduce the ship jam and the economy of the country will gain momentum.
Although goods unloading was hampered month after month due to jetty difficulty at harbour but hitherto the issue of unloading the goods by constructing the jetty at southern part of the river bank was delimited within several meetings and survey.
But the project spreads its radiance by the effort and attempt of Karnaphuli Ship Builders authority. They have accomplished the jetty building project by the permission of the ex-chairman of the harbour.
Karnaphuli dry-dock authority has informed that two other jetty construction work are under process. They mentioned that their objective was to comprise themselves with the development functions of the government through constructing these jetties by their own financing in to. At the same time we have built these jetties to conclude and close the huge amount of financial loss arising out of inability to unload the imported goods carrier ships even after waiting month after month at the harbour. It will be a continuous process.
In case of jetty construction, the farm pay their highest attention and importance about the damage of harbour ie. issue of sum-total security measure in building this jetty. After completing the construction process of the rest jetties, within near future for the first time the private Karnaphuli Dry-dock will construct and create the Specialized Economy Jetty Jone either in equal size of Mongla harbour or even larger.
