2nd Bangladesh Youth Games to be held in name of Sheikh Kamal

The 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games will be held in the name of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal either January or February next year, said a Bangladesh Olympic Association’s press release.
The decision was taken at a newly elected Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) executive committee’s meeting held on Thursday last at Kurmitola Golf Club in the city. BOA president and Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP, OSP, NDU,PSC, PHD presided over the meeting.
The meeting also entrusted BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza with the task of forming an organizing committee to make all the preparations for the Youth Games.
In the meeting, decision has been made to accord a warm reception to Bangladesh under-19 women’s soccer team, who won the title of SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship.
The meeting also decided to include e-sports discipline in the 19th Asian Games.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will take part in five international competitions this year. The competitions are 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games from July 27 to August 8 in Russia, 22nd Commonwealth Games from July 2 to August 8 in Birmingham, United Kingdom, 5th Islamic Solidarity games from August 9-18 in Turkey, 19th Asian Games from September 10-25 in China and 4th Asian Youth Games from December 20-28 in China.
At the beginning of the meeting, the BOA president congratulated the members of the newly elected committee and hopes that the newly elected committee will do better than the previous committee in all areas, including international sports competitions.
