29 BRTC buses, trucks imported thru’ Benapole Port

Some 29 BRTC Buses and trucks have been Imported from india through Benapole Port on Monday morning.
BRTC officials said that these buses and trucks imported for Dhaka city. This vehicles will run in the second week of February this year. Buses are currently kept at the Benapole port’s DTI terminal.
In the first case, 4 AC single buses and 25 trucks have come from India. Red and green colors have been made on two air-conditioned buses.
BRTC chairman Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan said 5 more AC buses, 42 general buses and 25 trucks will be imported end of this month. He said that 10 double-decker buses would also come. Farid Ahmed expressed hope that
On Jan 31, the vehicles will be deployed in Gazipur BRTC Depo. They will go to BRTA for registration within two days. There may be more than two-four days there. In the second week of February, the buses will be moved to the streets.
India has imported
600 buses and 500 trucks were imported from india under $ 200 crore loan. There are 300 double-decker buses, 100 single-storied general buses and 200 AC buses coming up. India’s car maker Ashok Layand is making double-decker and single-AC buses.
All bus-trucks will arrive in the country in the month of April, said BRTC authorities.
