Traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Wednesday filed 287 cases against different modes of vehicles for driving on wrong side.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed a total of 2822 cases against vehicles and realised Tk 18.12 lakh as fine for traffic rule violations, said an official release.
As many as 287 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 50 other cases for using hydraulic horn, six for using hotter and beckon light and 11 others for using tinted glass.
Some 75 cases, including 28 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 19 vehicles and wrecked 455 others.
Besides, 706 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 31 others were seized for the traffic rule violations.
