Coronavirus claimed an additional 28 lives and infected 1,540 more people in the past 24 hours on Thursday in Bangladesh, accumulating the death toll to 5,072 and infections to 3,55,384.
Among the diseased, 21 were male and seven were female patients.
A Directorate General of Health Services press release came up with the latest Covid-19 data.
Some 12,900 specimens were tested at 103 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Bangladesh had tested a total of 18,75,537 specimens as of September 24.
A total of 2,139 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 2,65,092.
Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
