The Faculty of Social Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday awarded its 28 meritorious students with prestigious ‘Dean’s Award’ for their brilliant results.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique handed over the awards among the recipients as the chief guest at a function held at Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium on the campus.
Presided over by Acting Dean of the Social Sciences Faculty Professor AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, the function was addressed by Pro-Vice Chancellor (administration) Professor Akhtaruzzaman and Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin as special guests.
Congratulating the students for winning the Dean’s Award, Professor Arefin urged them to play the leading role in making the country more prosperous.
He said students must possess humanitarian qualities like moral values, honesty, sincerity and dedication as these qualities will help them to prosper in life.
