Customs preventive team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport seized 2700 cartons of contraband cigarettes from Cargo Village on Thursday.
Based on secret information, a customs preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized the B&H cigarettes consignment worth around Tk 89 lakh, said Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Rezaul Karim. The consignment was imported on false declaration to evade existing taxes, he said.
