The Land Services Week-2017 was inaugurated at Raozan Upazila amid colourful ceremony on Monday.
Upazila Chairman Ehsanul Haider Chowdhury and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shamim Hossain formally inaugurated the week long programmes by releasing pigeons and balloons at upazila square on Monday as chief guest and special guest respectively.
Upazila Asstt Commissioner (Land) Jonaid Kabir Sohag conducted the inaugural function of the Week as moderator .
Our Raozan Correspondent Mir Aslam said, after formal inauguration of the Week, a colorful rally was brought out from Upazila Square which paraded the different roads of the upazila . Later, a discussion meeting was held at Upazila Hall after ending the rally . UNO Shamim Hossain presided over the discussion meeting moderated by the Assistant. The speakers in the meeting told that during last eight years, 270 landless family were rehabilitated under 4 Ashrayan Project in the upazila.
Among others, Primary Education Officer Abdullah al Mamun , Secondary Education Officer Saiful Islam, FF Abu Zafar Chowdhury, Agri Officer Belayet Hossain, Upazila Fishery Officer Aminul Islam, Cooperative Officer Mujibur Rahman Khan, Project Officer Sultana Anjuman Rashid spoke on the occasion. In the meeting, six highest land revenue payers under 6 union land offices have been awarded with honourary crest.
The moderator of the discussions, Asstt. Commissioner of Land told that under 4 r ehabilitation projects of the upazila during last 8 years , 270 landless families have been rehabilitated , 171.17 acres of land have been leased out to different development organizations and also leased 281.58 khas agri land to the beneficiaries of 615 families, our correspondent said.
