A total of 27 Shibir men, including Khulna City unit president Mim Hossain Miraz, were sent to jail yesterday.
They were produced to Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Court with a seven-day remand prayer. Judge of the Magistrate Court Iqbal Faruk passed the order to sent them to jail with fixing remand hearing on Sunday.
Police filed a case in Special Power Act, 1974 with Sonadanga Police Station last night accusing 27 Shibir men on charges of subversive activities.
Earlier on Thursday, Police arrested 119 suspected Shibir men from Siddiqia Kamil madrasa in Basupara area in the city.
Police also handed to over 92 madrasa students to their guardians as police did not found any involvement into Shibir politics and subversive activities.
