Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 27 Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to cross into India illegally through Putkhali border point here on Friday night.
The arrestees hail from different areas of Narail, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts.Subedar of Putkhali BGB-23 camp Farid Uddin said tipped off, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 11:00 pm and arrested the 27 Bangladeshi nationals, including 11 women and two children, who were trying to go to India without valid documents.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
