Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 27 gold bars from Taluigaccha border area in Sadar upazila on Wednesday noon.
Lt Col Sarker Mosatfizur Rahman said being tipped off that a consignment of smuggled gold was coming from India, a team of BGB conducted the drive around 12.30pm. Sensing the presence of BGB, the smugglers fled away. Later, the BGB members recovered the gold bars.
