Bagerhat Correspondent :
There is no trace of 27 missing fishermen of Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district since September 19 due to stormy weather .
They went to the sea to catch fish. The members of the fishermen’s families are passing their days in a deplorable condition.
It is a matter of confusion whether they (fishermen) are dead or alive. The members of the families of the missing fishermen believe, they are alive and they will return homes once again. But no satisfactory step has been taken by the Government to search out the missing fishermen.

It is learnt from the members of the families of the missing fishermen that during the Eid-ul-Azha they did not get any help from the Government or any non-Government Organizations. They thanked the local people and the villagers as they helped each of the family of the missing fishermen with a sum of cash Tk.2 thousand and 30 kgs rice at the time the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
On the other hand, Md. Mujibor Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Kachua prepared a list of 23 missing fishermen and another list of 13 injured fishermen who were recovered from the sea after Eid-ul-Azha and sent the same to the Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat and according to the list, each of the family of the missing fishermen was given a sum of cash Tk. 5 thousand and 30 kgs rice, while each of the fishermen who were recovered from the sea in injured condition was given a sum of cash Tk 3 thousand and 30 kgs rice from Bagerhat district administration.
