A total of 2,670 cases were filed with different police stations under Dhaka Range of police in November this year, which was 187 less than the previous month, indicating that the law and order situation was slightly improved there.
The information was revealed at the monthly crime annual meeting of Dhaka Range of Bangladesh Police at its conference room on Tuesday with Dhaka Range DIG Habibur Rahman in the chair.
Around 1,245 cases were filed after recovering illegal drugs in the Dhaka Range area last month, while 22 cases were recorded in illegal arms recovery sector.
In November last, a total of 14,099 accused were arrested under Dhaka Range following 8,868 arrest warrants issued by courts. Of those, 5,231 arrest warrants were resolved, the release said.
A total of 28 police personnel and three Chowkidars were awarded in the meeting for their outstanding monthly performances.
Police Superintendant of Narayanganj Mohammad Monirul Islam was conferred with the Best Range Police Supper Award, while senior ASP of Tangail Kamrul Hossain with the Best Circle Office Award.
