267 officials made Deputy Secretaries

The government promoted on Sunday 267 more officials, mostly from the 22nd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) batch, to Deputy Secretaries rank with a view to infusing dynamism into the administration.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification to the effect.
The number of Deputy Secretaries now rises to 1551 with the promotions against 830 posts in the approved organogram for the Civil Administration.
At least 198 senior assistant secretaries from the BCS administration cadre have been promoted this time while the rest were from other BCS
cadres, including posts, cooperatives, agriculture and education as per the gazette.
On November 27, 2016, the government promoted to 536 Civil Service cadre officers to different ranks.
In the promotion process last year, 145 Joint Secretaries were promoted to Additional Secretaries, 186 Deputy Secretaries became Joint Secretaries, while 205 senior assistant secretaries were made Deputy Secretaries.
