At least 267 more dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)
Among the 267 new cases of dengue infections, only 50 are from outside Dhaka, according to the DGHS.
With the new cases, a total of 6462 were diagnosed during this month alone out of a total of 9120 infected. And of the total infected, 655 are from outside Dhaka. At least 2286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June and 43 were infected in May, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS, 40 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. All of them died between July and August.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1090 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 125 are being treated outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
