266 get Muktijoddha Scholarship in Rajshahi

A total of two hundred and sixty-six undergraduate and higher secondary level students in Rajshahi district who are direct descendants of freedom fighters were awarded Muktijuddha Scholarship recently.
Rajshahi Law Maker Fazle Hossain Badsha handed over the award among the students while addressing the award ceremony as the Chief Guest. Assistant High Commission of India in Rajshahi organized the ceremony at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of Rajshahi University (RU).
Chaired by Assistant High Commissioner of India in Rajshahi Abhijit Chattopadhyay, RU Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan, Rajshahi Muktijuddha Sangsad’s Commander Abdul Mannan and High Commission’s Second Secretary Ajaya Kumar Mishra addressed the ceremony as special guests.
Terming Bangladesh-India relation as cordial and long-lasting, Badsha said there are more opportunities of improving the region by using the best relation.
He urged the Indian side to invest here for mutual benefit. “We have to come forward and work together for development of the region and boosting regional communications for economic prosperity,” he added.
Cheque of Tk 24,000 was handed over to each of the under undergraduate students while that of Tk 10,000 was given to every successful higher secondary level student.
The Government of India has been giving the scholarship to the heirs of freedom fighters from the reserved fund since 2016-2017.
