Police have detained 26 people including 8 BNP-Jamaat activists in a special drive in the district during the ongoing countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The law enforcers conducted the drive in the district from Sunday evening till Monday morning, said Sunamganj Police Super Muhammad Harun-Ur-Rashid.
He said: ‘They were detained for carrying out violence in the area.’
The law enforcers would continue the drive to maintain law and order situation in Sunamganj, added the police official.
