Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Tuesday filed 2,599 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation.
It also realized Taka 20.63 lakh as fine from owners, said an official release.
Of the total cases, 261 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 46 for using hydraulic horn, six for using hotter and beckon light and eight others for using tinted glass.
