A total of 25 thousand of electric consumers in the district already been detached from electric due to recent cyclone Bulbul.
According to Polly Bidyut Samity (PBS) Gopalganj official sources said, a total of 161 number of polls totally crack down, 200 polls misalignment, huge quantity of electric ware detached from electric line. Which loss of amount taka 15 crores, sources said.
Khalilur Rahman (58), a consumer of village Rahuthar under Kasiani Upazila in the Gopalganj said, last seven days in this area detached from electricity due to cyclone Bulbul and some electric poll cracked fallen in paddy field water as a result they have been living in dark besides mobile phones, easy bike fridge also inactive due to change. So that in this circumstances people in this regions filling intoleratable pain, Khalilur Rahman said. On the other hand, West Zone Power Distribution Company (WZPDC), Gopalganj official sources said, we are able reinstitute all maximum connection without 150 consumers start but working on going full swing. 150 consumer connections will reinstitute coming 2 or 3 days, official sources said. But some consumers alleged against them WZPDC taka 400 to taka 600 demand for reinstitute electric connection said some consumers at Islampara under Gopalganj Municipality area. They more added JSC examination on going but examinees could not actual start for their exam. preparation due to electric supply, consumers added.
Bipul Krishna Mondal, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of PBS, Gopalganj told The New Nation. due to cyclone Bulbul at least 25 thousands consumers in the district out of electric connection but I think all connection will be complete very soon, DGM said.
