2,500 Gazipur pry students brought under food prog

UNB, Gazipur :Around 2500 students of six primary schools in Gazipur district have been brought under ‘School Feeding Programme’, aiming to ensure their healthy growth.France Ambassador in Dhaka Sophie Aubert formally inaugurated the programme at Baniarchala Government Primary School on Saturday morning. Under the programme, charity organisation Paragon will provide eggs for the students of the six schools for a year. They will also have access to pure drinking water and healthcare.District primary education officer Mofazzal Hossain, ACI Limited executive director Dr F H Ansarey and school governing body chairman and social worker M Firoz Miah, among others, spoke on the occasion with Paragon charity organization president Moshiur Rahman in the chair. Addressing at the function, the France envoy said Bangladesh has progressed in a significant way in education sector. “I’m impressed to be here and we’ll remain beside Bangladesh as a development partner,” Aubert said. She said each person needs to have at least 104 eggs in a year to ensure required nutrition, and half of the country’s children will have access to nutrition if Bangladesh’s 5000 businesspeople come forward like Moshiur Rahman.
