250 Eid congregations to be held

Around 250 Eid congregations are scheduled to be held this year at the traditional and temporary venues in the city under the supervision of Chittagong Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims Ummah on Sept 25 next.
Local administration, CCC and CCEJC sources said preparations have almost been completed in the port city under the auspices of Chittagong District Administration, Metropolitan Police, and other religious organizations for peaceful celebration of the festival with due solemnity and religious fervour.
The preparations will cover organizing peaceful Eid congregations, safety and security and also creation of a favourable atmosphere so that devotes could perform their religious rituals of the Eid-ul-Azha peacefully.
CCEJC has finalized to hold a total of 95 Eid congregations at different venues in the city at a meeting recently held with Deputy Commissioner Mezbauddin in the chair at its conference room.
According to the decision all the 95 Eid congregations under the CCEJC will be held at 8 am.
The main Eid congregation of CCEJC will be held at M A Aziz stadium at 8 am. Principal of the Baitus Sharaf Madrasa, Moulana Saiyed Abu Noman will lead the prayer.
The other main Eid Jamaats will also be held at different venues including Andarkillah Shahi Jame Mosque, Laldighi Maidan, Parade ground, Pologround Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh) Dargah Maidan, Port Colony Jam-e-Mosque, Metropolitan Police line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, Bayejid Bostami (Rh) Dargah maidanat the same time.
Meanwhile, CCC will arrange a total of 154 Eid congregations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at its 41 wards under the supervision of the respective ward Councilors.
The decision was taken at a coordination meeting held recently at CCC auditorium.
However, the two grand Eid Jammats under the auspices of CCC will be held at Jamiatul Falah Complex Mosque at 8am and 8-30am respectively where first Jamaat will be led by Khatib of the Mosque Principal Mowlana Mohammad Jalaluddin Al Quadery and the second one will be led by Mowlana Nur Mohammad Sadeque, CCC sources said.
