The annual scholarship awarding program 2015 organized by Eastern University (EU) was held on Monday at the EU Seminar Hall. Members of the Board of Trustees of EU sponsor these funds for poor but meritorious students of the university. A total of 25 students were awarded scholarships for their excellence in academic performances in 2015. Till date, the university has disbursed Tk 35 crore in scholarships, and financial aid to students.
Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) was the chief guest at the session. Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of EU presided over the function while Chairman of the Board of Trustees of EU, Md. Azizul Islam was the special guest. Engr. Khandaker Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Mohammed Ali Azzam, Members of BoT; Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor; Treasurer; Registrar spoke on the occasion. Prof Dr ABM Shahidul Islam, Members of BoT; Deans; Controller of Exam; scholarship recipient students and their guardians; Teachers and officials of EU were present in the ceremony.
