Members of Coast Guard in a drive recovered 25 kilograms of venison and a deer head from Sundarbans under Choto Kumrokathi area of Dacope upazila on Monday evening.
On secret information, a team of the coast guard conducted the drive and
recovered the venison and the deer head, said Lieutenant Abdullah-Al-Mahmud, operation officer of the West Zone Coast Guard.
However, none was arrested as the poachers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, he said. Later, the recovered venison and head were handed over to Shibsa Forest office. On Friday last, Coast Guard also recovered two deer heads and skins from Kalabogi Canal of Sundarbans.
