Detective Branch of Police arrested 25 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami,including Zakir Hossain, Assistant Organising Secretary of the district unit BNP and Chairman of the Dholia Union Parishad, from Feni district on Tuesday.
According to Zia-ul-Huq, Sub-Inspector of Feni Model Police Station said that the police raiding a drive detained Zakir from his residence on a secret information at Rampur village.
He is accused of two cases on charge of torching the house of the District Judge Rezaul Haque, said the SI.
On the contrary, police raiding separate drives in the town on Monday late night and detained other 24 BNP-Jamaat men for allegedly creating anarchy during the countrywide non-stop blockade and hartal.
