Dhaka Education Board (DEB) sent show-cause notices to 25 educational institutions asking for explanation within December 18 as to why they did not return additional fee realised from SSC examinees during ‘form fill-up’.
The notices signed by DEB Chairman Professor Dilara Hafiz had been sent to the heads of the respective educational institutions two days ago.
They have also been asked to make it clear as to why legal action would not be taken against them for violation of rules and regulations.
Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Ideal School and College, Residential School and College, Mirpur Bangla School and College, National Ideal School, Holycross School, Rajuk Uttara Model School and College, Cambrian School and College, Monipur High School, Siddheswari Girls’ High School and West and High School are among the 25 schools.
According to the Dhaka Education Board, most of the schools realised three to five times higher amount as fee from the candidates.
The Board through its internal inquiry identified the schools and asked them to return the extra fee to the examinees. But they did not comply with it.
Dhaka and other Educational Boards have already issued written directions to all colleges not to charge additional fee from the HSC examinees. The HSC examination will be held in 2015.
