Chittagong City Corporation has distributed 25 saplings of different spices of fruit , forestry and herbal origin trees in 41 wards of the city at a simple ceremony held on Sunday at Laldighi Maidan in the city .
55 councilors of the city were present in the distribution ceremony , sources said. City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin handed over these saplings to the respective ward councilors.
City Mayor also planted a mango sapling in Laldighi premises on the occasion. With the cooperation of a private organization, these saplings were distributed, sources said. City Mayor advised the beneficiaries to plant these saplings in the premises of house, yards, premises of school and colleges, madrasa, mosque, graveyards and coastal area sites. Among others Panel Mayor Hasan Mahmud Hasny , Jubaira Nargis, Nisaruddin, councilors Saber Ahmed, Secretary of CCC Rashid Ahmed , Executive Magistrate Nazia Sharmin Shirin, Personal Secretary of Mayor Manzorul Islam, and Sajedul Karim, Abu Motaleb of British American Tobacco Company were present on the occasion, a CCC release said.
