A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) seized a truck and 2400 bottles of phensidyl in the capital’s Farmgate area on Sunday night. Police arrested also the truck driver Mintu Mia, 36, from the spot.
The CID Assistant Commissioner (AC) Mohammad Manjur Morshed said that police intercepted a truck at Farmgate and discovered 2400 bottles of phensidyle in 12 sacks.
Police suspected Mintu to be a member of a gang of drug peddlers, the police official said.
He further said that a case was filed with the Tejgoan Police station in the connection with the incident.
