Forest Department and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered 240 kg venison from a boat in the Baleswar River at Napitkhali near the Sundarbans early Friday.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the Sundarbans East Zone Md Mahmudul Hasan said a joint team of the Forest Department and BGB conducted the drive in the area in the early hours and recovered the venison from the boat. However, no one was there in the boat during the drive, he said.
Later, the seized venison was buried under ground.
