240 GUB students get VC’s, Dean’s Certificate

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) arranged a Certificate Awarding Ceremony on Thursday at GUB Auditorium to recognize the outstanding academic performances of the students placed in Vice Chancellor’s and Dean’s List of Honor in Summer Spring 2017. Vice Chancellor of GUB Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir presided over the program.
In a particular semester, students earning a GPA of 3.90-4.00 are placed in the VC’s list, where as those attaining a GPA of 3.80 – 3.89 is placed in the Dean’s list. A total of 240 students from eight departments of GUB received certificates. Among them, 117 were awarded Vice Chancellor’s certificate and 123 were awarded Dean’s certificate. Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir and the Chairpersons of the different departments of GUB distributed Certificates to the meritorious students.
Lt General Md. Mainul Islam (Retd), Registrar of GUB, Prof Dr Golam Ahmed Faruqui, Dean of Green Business School, Prof Dr Md. Fayzur Rahman, Dean of Science and Engineering Faculty, Prof SMK Nazmul Haque, Controller of Examinations, Chairpersons of different departments and faculty members were present on the occasion.
In his speech, Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir mentioned that the students who received the VC’s and Dean’s Certificate are ambassador of the university. He requested the Dean’s Certificate receivers to improve their position so that they can get the VC’s Certificate in the next semester. He also requested the VC’s Certificate receiver to be careful so that they can maintain their honor and also they can get the Chancellor’s Certificate in the next convocation.
