24 Islami Samaj activists held

Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested 24 leaders and activists of ‘Islami Samaj’, a black listed organization by Home Ministry from a residence of Mousumi Residential area in the city’s Pahartoli thana on Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off DB police conducted the drive at said residential area and detained the 24 activists and leaders of the Islamic organization while holding a secret meeting around 10.30pm last night, Deputy Commissioner of DB, CMP Paritosh Ghosh said. The DB men recovered huge anti state, anti democracy booklets and leaflets from their possessions.
The detainees were identified as Mohammad Ruhul Amin,45, top regional leader of Chittagong zone, Yousuf Ali,36, a top leader of Tongi zone in Dhaka, Amir Hossain, 50, Zamal Uddin,42, Abu Hanif, 52, Rafiqul Islam,27, Alamgir Hossain,35, Dider Hossain,33, Anwar Hossain,33, Shah Alam,40, Robiul Hossain,37, Tohidul Islam,22, Anwar Hosain,41, Abdul Wahab,54, Abdur Rob,40, Mohammad Chadek,42, Abu Bakar Kamal,50, Abdul Kader,27, Akbar Hossain,42, Saiful Islam,26, Ibrahim Khalil,26, Mubarak Ali,45, Abdul Hakim,45 and Mohammad Robiul,28, A case filed with Pahartali thana in this connection.
