Bandarban Forest Deparment seized 2,38,000 pieces of bamboos valued worth Tk 4.76 lakh recently.
Conservator of Chittagong region M. Akbar Hossain admitted the seizure but informed that cause of no auction was not known to him of drifting bamboo by Forest Department.
Forest Department sources informed reserved forest lies within the ambit of 1,02,858 acres during fiscal year 2012-2013 Matamuhuri Range realized revenue of Tk 61,38,016 from bamboos auction.
