Some 23 more people have been infected with coronavirus in Joypurhat district, taking the number of the virus cases to 883.
The district civil surgeon Dr Selim Mia confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning.
The reports of 161 persons in the district came from Dhaka today where the 23 persons were found positive for the virus, Dr Selim said.
However, the corona infected persons have been kept at the isolation ward of Gopinathpur Institute of Health Technology in Akkelpur upazila, the civil surgeon added.
Meanwhile, 740 people have made recovery from the virus while four died from the virus infection.
The first coronavirus case of the district was recorded on April 17.
