Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malek said there are about 23 lakh Paediatric who are suffering from autism in the country.
He said it in a certificate distribution programme in the Institute for Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism in BSMMU.
He said, research shows boys affected by autism are twice of the girls. We are trying our best to render Medicare to the physically challenge kids but we have lack of research on the issue.
Health Minister said Prime Minister is very much cordial about autism and autistic Childs. The family had thought that autistic Childs are burden for them. They did not send them to school. Now these types of attitude are changing. People are more careful about autism.
Zahid Malek said those who have autistic children will get better care in the coming days. There are many institutes in the country for their medical services; separate schools are being set up for them. Even in existing schools, separate arrangements are being made for their education. None of us want to move forward leaving anyone behind.
