Members of Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 23 Bangladeshi nationals while they were entering the country through Bhomra border point in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning, after going to India illegally.
All of the arrestees hail from different areas of Satkhira, Jessore and Feni districts.
Duty officer of Sadar Police Station sub-inspector Nikhil said on secret information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 10:45 am and arrested the 23 people while they were trying to enter the Bangladesh territory during their return from India without valid documents.
The border force also arrested an alleged human trafficker from the spot.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Sadar Police Station.
A case was filed in this connection.
