23 cattle markets selected

The cattle slaughtering points on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha will remain open for three days in the capital city from the Eid day.
A recent office order from the Dhaka South City Corporation notified all concerned in this respect. Secretary of DSCC Khan Mohammad Rezaul Karim signed the office order. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) also issued a notification same day, sources said.
The date of offering Eid prayer will be decided subject to the sighting of the moon, may be September 11 or 12.
Sources said, 23 temporary cattle markets in the Dhaka Metropolitan have been selected this year beside the Gabtali permanent cattle market.
DSCC has leased 14 cattle market, while the DNCC has leased 9 areas. The domestic animals selling will begin five days ahead of Eid day in those cattle markets.
The cattle markets are: Hazaribagh field, Hazi Delwar Hossain Math and Rahmatganj Math at Lalbagh, Meradia, Dholaikhal Sadek Hossain Khoka Math, Uttar Shahjahanpur, Dhupkhola field, Gopibag Balur Math, Postagola, Kamrangirchar, Jatrabari kitchen market, Kamalapur Stadium area and Shyampur Balur Math in Dhaka South. Besides, Sarulia union has a permanent cattle market there.
In Dhaka North, a vacant space near a bridge between Uttara Sector No. 15 and 16, open space near the Banarupa residential project, Mirpur Section-6, Ward No. 6, open space of Eastern Housing, Bhasantek field, Badda, Asian City Housing area and Bhatara.
