About 226 kilomitres area (which was under the perview of 36-enclave) of Debiganj, Sadar and Boda upazilas in the district were brought under electrification network by Thakurgaon Palli Biddyut Samity (TPBS) on Monday.
Local lawmaker Advocate Nurul Islam Sujon formally inaugurated the electrification programme at the villages of Dhahola, Kaghrabari and Balapara as the chief guest.
TPBS brought the area of 36 cnclaves under rural electrification network spending Taka about 27.12 crore.
About 9,000 consumers including newly constructed different educational institutions and mosques, of the area will get electricity from the power line.
Nurul Islam Sujon said the present government has given top piority for the people of the area. Now they are getting all kind of opportunity from this government.
After getting electicity, students of the remote area could know about health service, agriculture, apply for service through internet. The road construction work has began here, he added.
Thakurgon Polli Biddyut Samity chairman M Kalequzzaman, upazila chairman Hasnat Zaman Chowdhury, upazila nirbahi officer Safiqul Islam. Debiganj upazila Awami League President Nuruzzaman were present among others.
