A 220 meters long service jetty is being built on north bank of river Karnaphuli at Barik Building point at a cost of Rk.88.44 crores. Construction firm M/s. Pratanu Wahab A Barik will construct the berth , a port sources said.
It is witnessed after visiting the site by our correspondent that the earth development works, shore protection, construction of administrative bhaban are under going beside the No.1 berth at Barik building point of the river. Pipes, related equipments for the service jetty were brought from China in the meantime.
