Police, in special drives from Sunday night to this morning, arrested 22 persons and recovered illegal drugs- Phensidyl, Yaba tablets from seven upazilas of the district.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested seven people with 10 bottles of Phensidyl, Kalaroa police five with 50 bottles of Phensidyl, Tala police two, Shyamnagar police two, Kaliganj police two with two cocktail bombs, Assasuni police two, Debhata police one and Patkelghata police arrested one with 27 pieces of Yaba tablets.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
