22 held in Benapole while returning from India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 22 Bangladeshi nationals while entering the country through Putkhali border point here on Tuesday night, after going to India illegally. The arrestees were identified as Aminul Islam,31, Asadul, 24, Delwar Molla,40, Jahangir,26, Ranjit,35, Tapan Gharami,25, Shyamoli Odhikari,22, Azizur,28, Yaab Ali,29, Delwar Molla,30, Suman,27, Jakir Hossain,30, Didar Sardar,23, Sunita Majumdar,20, Rizia,25, Julekha,23, Nazma Khatun,22, Parul Begum,20, Sumaiya,8 Othoi,6, Asia,8 and Tahid,2. The arrestees hail from different areas of Jessore, Narail, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts. Alauddin, camp in-charge of Putkhali BGB Battalion-23, said on secret information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 10:00 pm and arrested six women, four children and 12 men while they were trying to enter the Bangladesh territory during their return from India without valid documents.
