At least 22 candidates were awarded seven days imprisonment by the Mobile Court on the charge of question forgery during the admission test for Nursing Colleges under 2015-16 session.
Executive Magistrate of Dhaka District Tasmia Jaygirdar passed the order.
Sub-Inspector of Shahbagh Police Station Wahiduzzaman said that the students were picked up from Eden Mohila College and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) centers.
The authorities of the DMCH and Eden Mohila College (EMC) detected the students when they were trying to enter the examination centers using fake admit cards. After become sure (DMCH and EMC) they, sought police and District Administration’s help.
The students who got imprisonment said, they gave Tk two to four lakh to a syndicate who contracted with them in cell phone for admission. But they did not disclose the name of the syndicate.
A student of Eden College wishing anonymity told The New Nation that some teachers and students of the college were involved with the admission test forgery.
The admission test for Nursing Colleges was held in 88 centers across the country from 10am to 11am. A total of 24,460 students took part in the admission test.
It may be mentioned that the Nursing College authorities took the admission test for the first time instead of admission on the basis of result.
