21 more die of Covid-19 in country

Bangladesh logged 21 more coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Friday, taking the total fatalities from virus to 7,883.
During this timeline, 578 fresh cases were reported, taking the total virus cases to 5,27,063.The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Saturday afternoon.
 Health authorities also reported 633 more recoveries over the preceding 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,71,756.
In the last 24 hours, 199 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 12,212samples and tested 12,215.
As of Saturday, a total of 5,976 men (75.80 per cent) and 1,907 women (24.19 per cent) died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
The infection rate is 4.07 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested, while the overall infection rate is 15.30 per cent.
So far, the recovery rate is 89.51 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.49 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 last year and the first death on March 18.
According to Worldometer’s COVID-19 data, the deadly virus has killed 20,19,866 people globally and infected 9,43,95,378 as of today afternoon.
