Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 21 people on charges of their illegal attempt to enter India through Putkhali border here early Saturday.
Among the arrestees, there were 13 men, seven women and a child.
Subedar Fayek Uddin, in-charge of Border Guard Bangladesh-23 Putkhali camp, said on secret information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in Balur Math area early in the morning and arrested the 21 while they were trying to enter the neighbouring country without valid documents.
The arrestees hail from different parts of Bagerhat, Narail and Gopalganj districts.
They were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
