A total of 21 meritorious students from different academic years of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of Dhaka University have received Haji Awlad Hossain Foundation Scholarship for their outstanding academic results.
Former Chairman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture Prof Dr Mohammad Ibrahim distributed the scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on Thursday at the R C Majumder Arts Auditorium.
Chairman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture Prof Dr Md. Tawfiqul Haider presided over the function while Director of the Haji Awlad Hossain Foundation Tofazzal Hossain addressed as guest of honour.
Prof Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Prof Dr AKM Golam Robbani, Assistant Professor Md Syfullah and Haji Awlad’s son-in-law Abdul Matin Pradhan also addressed the function. Assistant Professor Mahmudur Rahman conducted the program.
It may be mentioned that a total of 21 meritorious students from different academic years have received the scholarships.
Among them, 5 got from first year BA honours, 4 from second year BA honours, 4 from third year BA honours, 4 from fourth year BA honours and 4 from Masters Classes.
