A ‘joint force’ of different agencies arrested 41 people, including 27 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir, from different places of the district from Wednesday night to Thursday morning .
Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of Satkhira Special Branch, said a team of the ‘joint force’, comprising members of police, Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh, conducted separate drives in eight upazilas of the district and arrested 41, including one of BNP and 26 of Jamaat-Shibir on various charges.
Police said the BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men were arrested on sabotage charges.
Among the arrestees, 11 are from Sadar, six from Kalaroa, four from Tala, six from Kaliganj, two from Ashashuni, three from Debhata, four from Patkelghata and two from Shyamnagar upazilas.
