Lasith Malinga, who was the star performer of the day for Sri Lanka with a fifer has informed that 2019 World Cup will be his last World Cup if he gets an opportunity to play.
Malinga’s 5 for 44 showed some hopes for Sri Lanka to fight hard against England, but their batsmen let them down as they suffered 31-run defeat in a rain effected game.
Malinga has been on fire after his comeback in the national team. He picked up 10 wickets in the 4 matches he played and showed some glimpse of his early days.
The 35-year old pacer revealed how much he suffered to get back to the national team once again.
“The selectors are entitled to make those decisions. I’m just a player. My only job is to play when I get the chance. When I was out of the team, I went and played in Canada. I also played the district competition and got the highest wickets. Thanks to those performances I got another chance at this level. Because I’m nearing the end of my career I’m motivated to get wickets.”
