2000 tourists stuck at St Martin for inclement weather

Around 2000 tourists have got stuck at Saint Martin’s Island in the Bay of Bengal in Teknaf upazila following inclement weather. However, all the tourists are reportedly in safe at the local hotels. Chairman of Saint Martin Union Parishad Nur Mohammad said the plying of ship was suspended following bad weather on early Friday. As a result, about 2000 tourists have got stuck here.
“We are taking proper care of the tourists so that they don’t suffer for foods and drinking water”, he added.
Cox’s Bazar Met Office sources said following stormy weather, local cautionary signal no three was put up and all tourist vessels have been advised not to ply until further notice. Manager of tourist ship Keari Sindbad Mohammad Shah Alam said the tourist ships like Keari Sindbad, Keari Dinning and Cruise, MB Bangalee, LCT Kutubdia, Green Line, Bay Cruise and LCT Kajal regularly ply through Teknaf-Saint Martin route.
